The Bible Series on HISTORY CHANNEL

Hey Everyone,
I wanted to get your opinion on the new Bible mini-series on the History Channel. I was a little apprehensive initially about watching the show because as I'm sure you can relate as Christ Followers we are constantly under scrutiny from the media, other faiths and non-religious sects. I had decided however that I would check it out eventually. I missed the first episode but was drawn in by the sight of a "black" Samson. This was the first time I had ever seen Samson's role played by a black man. Usually it was by white actors. From then on I was intrigued to see how accurate or true to the scriptures the creator's of the series would be. I was immediately disappointed at the job done telling the story of David.
This past weekend I watched a marathon of the series and was able to catch that first episode. I feel that the producers were trying to be politically correct and therefore left key elements out. It seems clear to me that the goal was not share the WORD of GOD but to entertain and tell a story. Some things were almost rewritten. For example how Jesus entered the tomb of Lazarus and touched his head and prayed silently as he raised Lazarus from the dead. This is no where in the Bible. John 11 The Bible specifically states that Jesus had the stone in front of the tomb rolled away and called Lazarus out of the tomb. It never says that he and Lazarus' sister entered the tomb. Also going back to the Exodus when Pharaoh's army went after the Israelites they never showed how God held the army back with fire and wind. Why not tell the exciting truth instead of what you think will entertain and make sense to people. If it is truth it will make sense and entertain on it's own.

I think I was expecting more of something along the lines of Charlton Heston in the TEN COMMANDMENTS. Now thats epic!
I don't know you guys, what do you think of the series?

Do you think I am reading into it too much. BE HONEST BUT NOT RUDE or you will be blocked.Keep in mind that crude and rude content is not allowed on this blog nor is profane language.

Thanks
